Ideas On Cleaning A Shower Curtain
It is possible to look after your shower curtain so that it lasts longer for you. There are some ideas and methods that have been developed to keep your bathroom clean and tidy.
The biggest problem with shower curtains is the resultant moulds that tend to form on it because of always being in a damp environment. You could hang the curtain out to dry in the sun when you finish bathing. This will give it a chance to completely dry and kill any germs and bacteria that are likely to be on it.
Alternatively you can schedule to wash your curtains every time you wash your laundry as well or more frequently if you are someone who goes for long periods without washing your clothes. The trick is adding a cup of vinegar and bleaching agent to your normal detergent. Throw in some white towels and load the machine to its usually capacity, if it still does not fill to capacity.
Do not use hot water to wash the curtain as it might melt or possibly shrink in size. When you are done washing hang it out in the sun to dry, do not throw it in the dryer as it might get damaged.
Another idea that you can try is soaking the curtain in salt water or a mixture of salt water and vinegar after washing it and then put it back on the rod to dry from there. The salt water and the vinegar will prevent the formation of mildew and moulds.
There are also some sprays that are now available that you can use on your shower curtain. The sprays are also designed to prevent the formation of moulds and mildew. Remember to always wash down any soap foams that fall on the shower curtain; they are the ones that usually become moldy.
